Corduroy
fine dining restaurant • 6,800 sf • Washington, DC

The client, a star-chef in Washington DC, who is recognized for his insistence on the highest quality foods, decided to relocate his restaurant from a downtown hotel to a three-story brick building.

The design team worked with the existing language of the building and the chef’s vision to create a design that is subtle and refined, similar to the fare which has been cited as “understated elegance” by local press. Major changes include the addition of two staircases and 1,200 sf on the first floor to accommodate the commercial kitchen.
